When perl 5.6.1 is installed, it should be installed with the new modules as well, and you need to make sure the include path includes the path to those new modules, not the old modules. From the error, it is looking at the old modules, which probably don't work with the new perl binary.
I've only delt with this problem once, so others may have better instructions if you are still stuck.
