I am actually using IAS with Win2K. I needed an inexpensive solution
that would authenticate using a user's domain credentials. I haven't seen a
solution other than SBR that will do this, other than IAS. I'd much rather
log directly to an RDBMS, but I have to go with what I have.

This may not be what you want, but why not replace the implementation
of RADIUS. Since RADIUS is somewhat of a standard, why not find a
newer one that logs to an RDBMS? What implementation are you currently
using (Livingston, Merit, Win2k)? is it Open Source? is there a patch
for it to log info to a DB?
