Attached is a script that I wrote a while back that gets almost all the information you can get from a WINNT box without using WMI. I REALLY have to clean it up, at the time I didn't know that what I was trying to do was create an array of hashes for most of the items, so it looks really messy. All that being said, you should be able to figure out how I got the info.
