Your right, I miss spoke, Win32::Perms is what I mean to say. So you can convert the user name and sid back and forth easly. To access servers not in your domain first do this:
$exe = `net use \\server_you_want_to_access password /u:domain\username`; #if the server is not in a domain use server_name\username instead of domain\usename hope that makes sense Jay Flowers -----Original Message----- From: Johannes Studt To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: 5/2/02 8:15 PM Subject: RE: WMI Win32_LogicalShareSecuritySettings->GetSecurityDescriptor Hello again, >> I want to determine the permissions set to a NT4 file share. >> After hours spended on reading WMI documentation I get that result: [...] >> Where I'm wrong? I've looked at www.roth.net and can't find anything except for Win32::Perms, that were able to deal with file shares. And Win32::Perms isn't able to get "human readable" permission entrys (not SID, but \\DOMAIN\user_id) from remote servers not residing in my admin domain. I'm not sure how to explain my problem 'cause English is not my first language, but I hope you''ll understand what I mean. ;) regards, Johannes Studt _______________________________________________ Perl-Win32-Admin mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] To unsubscribe: http://listserv.ActiveState.com/mailman/mysubs _______________________________________________ Perl-Win32-Admin mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] To unsubscribe: http://listserv.ActiveState.com/mailman/mysubs
