Which scripts are you referring to that don't work with PerlApp?  I haven't found a single module yet that won't work with it.  I'd try it first before you go installing Perl on every machine.  The information you seek is also in the registry, so you can edit it in the registry and then reboot the machines, and that will work as well without installing any software.

Try the W2K Server Resource Kit. There are some active state perl scripts that change dns, wins and domain settings. The scripts work well for W2K but NT workstations may need WSH loaded.

One catch, especially on W2K, is that the scripts must reside and execute locally since you are changing the network connection. Hint: Copy scripts and use scheduler. Also, Perl must be installed locally as well, since the scripts don't "compile" via perlapp.

Enjoy.

Subject: Sys Admin - perl question - change of dns or other things

Group,

I am in a situation in which I need to sign on to a bunch of work stations and make changes.  IP changes for dns and other tasks.  My question is what would be
the best way to handle this via perl script.  I have played with Win32::AdminMisc (not too successful).  Any and all suggestions would be appreciated.

Note:  I have administrator user/pass to all of these boxes so getting access is not a problem.

Thanks to all.
