Ken,
You can use the Win32::Lanman::NetServerEnum to list the OS version of all the machines in a Domain and it does not require any special rights. It lists the versions by its major/minor version number, i.e. 5.0 for Win2k, and 5.1 for XP. It does not tell you however if it is running Server or Workstation, but it will tell you if it is a domain controller, or is advertising MS SQL server, IIS, time service, DFS, etc. James Krummel -----Original Message----- >From: Foster, Ken [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]] >Sent: Monday, September 30, 2002 1:46 PM >To: '[EMAIL PROTECTED]' >Subject: Get the Windows OS version for a remote Computer >I have used Win32::GetOSVersion() to get an array for the computer I am >running on, I was wondering if there is a way to get this for a remote >computer on my network.
