Quoting Steven Manross: > I can take this offline if no one wants to see this...
I don't know about anyone else, but I think it should stay in ASPN -- posterity is an important thing! I almost emailed you privately, Steven, but then I thought that someone else might run into the same issues. > Which version of the module do you have? Let's see here... [tappity tap] looks like version 0.036 -- that's what it says in the html docs. > You mentioned that you had to run some POSIX tools, what for (what > problems did you encounter)? When I ran CPAN for the first time, it asked me about things like gz and tar, make, etc, I guess those aren't strictly "POSIX," but they're more unixey in my mind -- so I went to try and satisfy those deps in order to get stuff properly installed, since the modules from CPAN are tarred and gzipped. I stopped trying to satisfy them when they started asking about make and gcc, figuring that I wouldn't have to compile much stuff. > What version of perl are you running? (this module is not tested in > activeperl 5.8, or tested with activeperl older than build 631). It is ActivePerl 5.8, but it's very possible that the problem lies in how I set up the Exchange server -- I would immediately suspect that before I would suspect your module. One question would be, are there any dependencies, like for OLE (for example) that I would have to satisfy in order for some of those features to work? As my email showed, it was getting some data from the Exchange server, but was unable to create accounts or update the attributes (and yes, I was running as administrator). > P.S. Win32::Exchange now lives at www.manross.net/perl/ppm in addition > to Dave Roth's PPM site, and on CPAN. I will try adding your site as a rep... it was so strange that it should show in the searches but then not have an installable candidate. > Don't comment on the lack of content or my lack of HTML capabilities on > manross.net.. I already know. Don't worry. I'd be more than happy to do any debugging or playing around with this -- somewhere down the road I have an eye towards replacing the account/mail creation software we're using at my workplace with Perl stuff, so I'd love to help with this module in any way I can.
