Great info Joachim! Under the
[HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Class\{4D36E972-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002B
E10318}] key I have a similar setup, but the info is under various other
subkeys one is [...\0003\Ndi\params\Media_type\default] another is
[...\0001\Ndi\params\LinkSelection\default]. It seems this varies by NIC
(both of these are by 3Com) so it would seem you would have to get rather
intricate with the logic as you enumerate all of these keys or limit the
selection to what you have manually researched that applies for the majority
of your systems. By default, I believe W2K sets the card to automatic.
A truly interesting puzzle that you would think would be more standardized.

I have looked for duplex/half-duplex/auto settings, and cannot find them.
I've looked in registry and WMI.
I'm wondering if they might be more related with the network card drivers
and not the OS, and that's why they are not easy to find...
