Well I've got it *almost* all figured out... I deleted the perl folder, then
(oops) uninstalled it from add/remove programs, logged off and back on to
refresh the environment variables, and then reinstalled, and voila! I can
get most "normal" packages now from ActiveState.... I still can't get the
gdbm_file module that I was originally after, though... I'm now getting:

ppm> install 1
Package 1:
Error: no suitable installation target found for package GDBM_File.
ppm>

Nearly the same error, but slightly different, and possibly still just me...
Any ideas?

Subject: RE: PPM Error

Hmmmm, Okay, I found some other references suggesting that it could be a
problem with the repositories, and so I deleted all configured ones, and
used rep add to put in Roth's repository (just so happens I was after GDBM
anyhow), and I get this error:

ppm> rep add Roth http://www.roth.net/perl/packages/
Repositories:
[1] Roth
ppm> search gdbm

Subject: PPM Error

Hello,

I'm having some problems installing modules... The error I'm getting is:

ppm> install 8
Package 8:
Error: PPD for 'MLDBM.ppd' could not be found.
ppm>

It says the same thing no matter what I try to install, though it searches
just fine. I've got gobs of disk space, and administrative priv's on a win2k
pro machine... Any ideas?

Thanks in advance,

--Jon
