That's why we need to see some code... Win32::Daemon is happily running on XP for me. :)
I'm guessing that there's a compile error that you are not seeing because it's in the service context. Running perl -c script.pl may tell you what the issue is. I could be wrong. It happens now and again. :) If that doesn't fix it, send the smallest test case (or run Roth's dirmon.pl example to see if it has the same errors -- which I am guessing that it will work, and then send code to the list.) It appears I may have to retract my earlier statements, as another service that uses Win32::Daemoni *is* working, but as of yet I have no idea why.
