FindBin is reputedly severly broken. Search PerlMonks for a post from tye.

In TGL, I do this:
#The directory this program is running from.
use File::Basename;
my $pathBase;
BEGIN {
unshift(@INC, ".");
$pathBase = dirname($0);
unshift(@INC, $pathBase);
}
You could also do a chdir(dirname($0)) in a begin block I guess.
