my ($DOS) = Win32::GUI::GetPerlWindow();
Win32::GUI::Hide($DOS);

You can also Win32::GUI::Show($DOS); it if you want to (I find this useful
in debugging, so I'll usually add some *secret* way to do this (like type
"debug on" within a RichEdit or Textbox -- shhh, top secret!).
