I tried your updated PerlSQL program and everything looks good but the SQL
command function. I entered:
"select [fname] from employee" and "select fname from employee where fname =
'Paul'"
on a DSN setup on the Pubs database and nothing happened.
Are quotes around the select statement required, or necessary? I tried with
and without.

With a little more addition to preferences, entering sql statements, and
