No way to restart them (except to perhaps use SNMP to turn off their UPSs or something, if you're lucky enough to have such control). You might try turning off the brain-dead "OK to shutdown your PC" message altogether if your BIOS supports it. Try using the registry hack (and the updated hal.dll) described here: http://www.windows2000faq.com/Articles/Index.cfm?ArticleID=14830 Note that machines that are shut down programmatically (using perl's Win32 extensions, for example) will ignore that registry setting, since that would be just too damn useful and Microsoft can't allow that. It only works when initiated manually via the console itself. At least that's been my experience. Please let me know if yours varies! With Microsoft the "manual" is always included -- the manual labor, that is. You'd think automation was a dirty word or something. Sheesh!
