Why would you want to do this in Perl?  There are plenty of
free stat packages that can do this *correctly*, with the
right statistical tests and diagnostics at the back end.
I recommend that you check out R.  That's right, it's just
a single letter, like C.  R has a scripting language, so
you can drive it from a Perl program, if you prefer...
