I want to launch MS Wordpad from Perl/Tk. If I use the backtick operator to execute the Word application the main Tk window doesn't get repainted when the Wordpad program covers the main Tk window, consequently leaving huge footprints over the main Tk application. Is it possible to launch a Wordpad program using OLE. It seems as if Tk maintains itself as the parent when using the backtick operator.
