Can't you send a text msg via email to a phone? Got his from AT&T's web site.
SENDING A TEXT MESSAGE FROM YOUR PC TO A WIRELESS PHONE... >From Internet e-mail: Address the e-mail to the 10-digit wireless phone number followed by @mobile.att.net. For example, if the phone's number is 206.123.4567, then the e-mail address is: 2061234567@ mobile.att.net. Just use an existing mailer module from CPAN or take a look at Jenda's mailer here at: http://jenda.mydot.net hth, Jim ----- Original Message ----- From: "Wagner, David --- Senior Programmer Analyst --- WGO" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: "Perl Win32" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Sent: Monday, September 08, 2003 8:30 AM Subject: Using Perl to send Text messaging to Mobile Phone > I looked on Activestate site and found a Python script, but nothing from Perl. Also looked on CPAN, but nothing stood out or I am using the wrong words in search. > > Anyone done it? I am attempting to go to ATT WireLess. I have a running application, but want to have a separate process checking that it is up and working. If it goes down, I want to send a text message to my phone. > > Thanks. > > Wags ;) > > > > ********************************************************** > This message contains information that is confidential > and proprietary to FedEx Freight or its affiliates. > It is intended only for the recipient named and for > the express purpose(s) described therein. > Any other use is prohibited. > **************************************************************** > > > _______________________________________________ > Perl-Win32-Users mailing list > [EMAIL PROTECTED] > To unsubscribe: http://listserv.ActiveState.com/mailman/mysubs > _______________________________________________ Perl-Win32-Users mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] To unsubscribe: http://listserv.ActiveState.com/mailman/mysubs
