Very interesting. Then at least the PHP option is not death!!! :-)
What you write makes me very hopeful. I'm toying with the idea of
suggesting a mix of Php and Perl anyway.
BUT, big question - people are constantly talking of Linux on this
list, but Linux is not a given in our environment. I think we
have HP Unix &/or one other flavour of unix here already.
How do both Perl and Php feature in a Unix-but-non-Linux environment?
RE: The manager...
She is really worried about PERFORMANCE BIG TIME, ergo the Php
talk of being faster than Perl and us "not having too many CGI
scripts" (though that doesn't make sense), has gotten her really
interested.
Anyway, you've set me at ease by saying Php is a subset of Perl...
So I'm still not completely removed from Perl... (Yipee!)
