Hmmmm... looking around shows that I either tossed the documentation  before
the last office move or turned it into the person who manages that stuff.  I
used the product for a few months some years ago.  As a query tool it was
excellent.

I'd checkout the Cognos web site.  I believe the standard market leaders,
ODBC, ...

I don't understand the question.  Impromptu is a query tool to interface to
a RDBMS.
