File Modified Time Conversion Help Needed

Hi PERL MASTERS

I am using the stat function to obtain the modification date of a file?

 my $m =  (stat $f)[9];

How do I convert $m so as to be able to display it as mm/dd/yy hh:mm:ss

TIA all help greatly appreciated.
