I am in the process of reading information on using ODBC, but I
have been left with several questions unanswered. Up until now, I
have always created flat file databases and parsed them. Lately,
as the size of these databases has grown, I realize that it would be
more efficient to use the ODBC model.
My database is going to be created with Excel2000, designed on a
Win98 box, and served on a Win2000 box. So, when I ftp the
database and the perl to the server, am I correct in understanding
that it will not have access until I register/name the database within
the Control Panel's ODBC Manager?
