You need VC++ to install this module, as it has an xs
component. If this isn't an option, we have a ppm package of
it at http://theoryx5.uwinnipeg.ca/ppms/, for ActivePerl
8xx, and http://theoryx5.uwinnipeg.ca/ppmpackages/, for 6xx.
The ppm install should run a post-install script offering to
grab for you the required openssl dlls.

Are there instructions for how to install these ppm packages?

Maybe you can:

c:>PPM help
c:>perldoc ppm

or even:

http://www.google.com/search?q=%2Bperl+%2B%22install+PPM%22

HTH

I should have said I tried PPM3 and was having problems. I changed the repository to the above URL, can search, describe, etc. But when I go to install I get the following error, which basically seems to indicate it can't get the ppd file.

ppm> describe Crypt-SSLeay =================== Name: Crypt-SSLeay Version: 0.51 Author: Joshua Chamas <josh (at) chamas dot com> Title: Crypt-SSLeay Abstract: OpenSSL glue that provides LWP https support Location: theoryx5 Available Platforms: 1. MSWin32-x86-multi-thread ====================

ppm> install Crypt-SSLeay Error: PPM::PPD constructor called with undef ppd $VAR1 = 'PPM::Installer'; $VAR2 = 'C:/Perl/site/lib/PPM/Installer.pm'; $VAR3 = 151; $VAR4 = 'PPM::PPD::new'; $VAR5 = 1; $VAR6 = 1; $VAR7 = undef; $VAR8 = undef; $VAR9 = 2; $VAR10 = ' ';

Any thoughts ?

Thanks!
SEan
