I have been trying to run a program using the command line call (using system())in my perl script which is being called as a cgi program. I'm using Personal Web Server for Windows NT Workstation 4.0 and the program I'm trying call doesn't get invoked unless if I change the extension of the program from ".pl" to ".plx", which means I have to use PerlIS instead of the Perl interpreter perl.exe. This, however, results in the server crashing frequently. I am wondering why doesn't the program work when its extension is ".pl"? I really need to get this working without problems.
