I haven't heard anyone (er, Brian) say this yet in this thread, so
at the risk of being redundant:

Inline 0.50 has build support, so your C stubs can be processed through
inline instead of XS.  The distfile will build out-of-the-box, even when
Inline isn't installed on the installing machine; all that's different
is that the XS pseudo-language can be avoided.
