Can't locate *.al file

Hi All,

I am new to perl and I am trying to create a module from c code.  I have
run h2xs and make, make test and make install.  When I try to use that
in a script I get  an error:
Can't locate auto/test/test.al in @INC

Do I need to create the al file and if so how do I do that?
