Good morning all, I am having some trouble with invoking a Ukrainian 'IE' or 'ie' in MARC-8 Extended Cyrillic Character Set. That is: Є UPPERCASE E / CYRILLIC CAPITAL LETTER UKRAINIAN IE = Marc8 43 = Unicode 0454 є LOWERCASE E / CYRILLIC SMALL LETTER UKRAINIAN IE = Marc8 63 = Unicode 0404
I am beginning to suspect my DRA classic system or failing to read the MARC record correctly, but on the other hand I also suspect a problem in my records. My question for interested Catalogers/Programmers. Can anyone send me a sample MARC record containing a Ukrainian 'IE', which displays correctly displays in your system? I am thinking of a *.dat file. If yes, I'd also like to know what system you are using and where I can view the record on the web. Thanks in advance for all your help!
