Software Developer, Authoring Tools - C++

Summary:
MSD is an employee-owned company of over 500 professionals who support
the diverse technical, scientific, and administrative needs of the
Federal government. We are currently searching for an experienced
Software Developer to support one of our clients within the National
Institutes of Health. This opportunity is permanent, full-time, and on
site in Bethesda/Rockville, MD.

This team is an integral part of the National Library of Medicine and
has been tasked with creating software and databases for various
biomedical research initiatives including PubMed and Genbank. We are
developing new software to enable biomedical scientists to create
documents that can be transformed directly into XML from commonly used
writing tools. MSD requires a strong programmer to join the software
development team to help us in this endeavor.

The position will involve:

-Development of verification test suites.
-Development of conversion software.
-Contributing to other aspects of development of the authoring
environment.
-Complex problem solving and troubleshooting.

Qualifications
-B.S or higher degree in Computer Science or related technical
discipline and minimum three years of software development experience.
-Fluency in C/C++
-Either high level competency in C#/XSLT, or basic familiarity with a
record of high achievement 
-Knowledge of UNIX scripting and PERL 
-Excellent written and oral communication skills and ability to work
with people at every level.
