Oh, sorry, didn't mean to be vague. I had just read the comment about
'smoke tests' in the patch in ticket 18238, and thought that it would be a
good idea to do something like what the comment suggested.
That is, the patch had a guess at a list of operating systems that would
try the test. Everyone else would skip it. (Or maybe I have that
backwards.) For the development track, at least as a first pass, I think
the test should be tried on all operating systems. If some are to be
skipped, that decision should probably be based on the absence or presence
of some particular relevant feature in Config.pm. If Configure doesn't
test for that feature yet, then the development track is a good time to
put that test in.
