Dealing with spaces in filenames or directories is probably possible, but almost certainly would takes lots of effort untangling multiple levels of quoting inside evals. I suspect it'd be a lot of work. As for testing Configure with the MKStool Kit, I suppose it would be nice in principle if it worked, but I don't see what advantage it would offer over the existing pre-made win32 config.?? files.
