I confirm this :) Most tools developed in-house by mandrakesoft are written in perl. This include every graphical setup tool or wizard, urpmi (the package management software), the OS installer, various applets. A few tools are written in python but they pertain to the process of building and verifying rpms. We have a tool written in OCaml too :)
