Kent Fredric [1]requests testers to adjust PERL_USE_UNSAFE_INC=0 in order
to surface real bugs in tests. Kent also provided a [2]summary of the
steps he takes to verify bugs.
Dave Mitchell shared his [3]attempt (proof-of-concept short-string
PVs) at
a speed up by storing short strings in the SV head.
