I've added functionality to strip POD entirely and to stub blank lines. I've
also gutted the implementation trying to save characters (literally, individual
characters) wherever possible. I've got it down to 342 kB. There isn't much more
room to squeeze stuff out.
Personally, I find the POD useful when I'm going thru a Devel::Cover run. I interleave POD with functions and I like to refer to my docs.
