Since type objects have no state, it's almost certainly an exception,
but certainly *not* that one! :-) As of git 8b525f1 it now more
helpfully reports:

Type objects do not have state, but you tried to access attribute $!a

I unfudged a test for this in S12-attributes/instance.t.
