This could cause some trouble. I was expecting cpuarch-osname (two dash-separated components only). I think we'll happily ignore the latter two entries, though. Do you consider "sun4" to be the cpuarch? Or is it really "sparc*"? > I saw the following odd message: > > perl jit2h.pl i386 > include/parrot/jit_struct.h > Package `Parrot::Jit' not found (did you use the incorrect case?) at jit2h.pl line 7. That seems really strange. You have Parrot/Jit.pm? > Later, while testing ./test_parrot -j, I got the message: > > ../test_parrot: Cannot use the '-j' JIT-enabling flag on this architecture: > i386-nojit This is actually the correct message (for appropriate values of "correct"), even though its a wart that's scheduled for removal. > I understand it aborted because the appropriate jit file hasn't been > written yet, but calling my 'sun4-solaris-64int-ld' system an 'i386-nojit' > sure does seem a bit, well, odd. In order to avoid creating a jit/nojit directory with core.jit and string.jit in it, this was the cheat. Eventually, we'll have it. So, this is known and expected behavior for now. We just want the thing to build, even if you have a nojit architecture.
