Perl already *was* PEARL. Way back when. Larry changed it *to* Perl
because there was already a different PEARL.

Maybe they're really talking about PEARL. If not, I would doubt the
quality of any book that couldn't get the name of the language right
that it was supposed to be covering. ;-)
