It will if you're lucky :)

AFAIK there isn't anything better than undef for releasing memory, but
the docs say that its actual success depends on the OS. I experimented
with it on GNU/Linux quite a lot, and it worked (i think), but on
Windows it may be different. Can anybody tell something more precise?
