Hi Gabor,

I apologise for writing to the list from my @gmail.com address, but I
did not get this thread into my preferable mailbox yet (I have had
lots of problems with incoming E-mails there lately for some reason.)

Yes, I'm using perl-5.12.2-5mdv2011.0.i586 on Mandriva Cooker and
perl-5.10.1-10mdv2010.1 on Mandriva 2010.2 .

Well, I'm avoiding most if not all of the new features. For a brief
time I used Damian's Regexp::Grammars module which was 5.10.0 and
above. The reason I'm avoiding them is because I don't want to force
people to use newer versions of Perl and because I find easy
workarounds for the newer features using older features.

keys(@array) and each(@array) in perl-5.12.x seem attractive to me.
say() also seems nice and convenient, as are \k (named captures), and
many other improvements.

Well, I'm not using older Perls. I recall someone on a different Perl
mongers mailing list who sought help with an installation of
perl-5.8.7, and refused to upgrade, and I told the list that he was
probably beyond help.
