Hi, all. I'd like to get feedback on what platforms people would
like to run Karma on. It's my impression that the following platforms
are the most popular:

- Linux (i386 and amd64)
- Darwin/MacOS 10 (powerpc and i386)
- sparc_Solaris

and of course these are supported. There are other platforms which
used to be supported (like SGI/IRIX 6) but are not currently because
the hardware I used to build binaries has died. I also build
sparc_Linux binaries, but I have no idea if anyone uses these.

So, please take a minute to respond and let me know what platforms
matter to you. This will help me evaluate which platforms I should
start or stop supporting. Note that MS Windows is not supportable
because Karma relies heavily on Unix and X Windows facilities.

Also, something that has been lacking is a Karma User Cookbook. This
is something that I think is best written by a user, since I'd
probably have the wrong perspective. I'm calling for volunteers for
this intensely rewarding task! Fellow astronomers around the world
will sing your praises! If you know of someone who may be suited to
this task, please put the victim^H^H^H^H^H^Hlucky person in contact
with me.

                                Regards,

                                        Richard....
