For me, on XP (and Vista), the arrow keys seem to work fine. The left and right keys move the cursor along the command line, thus allowing editing of the command line, as expected. And the up and down keys take me backwards and forwards through the commands that have already been run, also as expected. Does that not work for you ? Or do I misunderstand you ? I don't understand your problem with Ctrl-F and Ctrl-B. You say they work slowly ... but for me they do nothing useful at all. If I hit Ctrl-F, a ^F appears on the command line, and if I hit Ctrl-B, a ^B appears on the command line. That's all that happens. Is something else supposed to happen ?
