The use of developer's releases of PDL is proving
as effective as I had hoped. Because of the
automated test reports, it has been possible to
fix bugs, modify the code, and make the latest
version available on CPAN without breaking the
availability of the PDL-2.4.4 official release.

To that end, I am working towards a PDL-2.4.5
release this Summer to include first of the TriD
code refactored to use the Perl OpenGL module
instead of our handrolled PP version along with
any bug fixes and enhancements completed by the
release.

PDL-2.4.5 Features:

* First release of TriD refactoring to use POGL
rather than the internal OpenGL bindings

* Fix outstanding bugs in PDL-2.4.4

NB: The most common build failure being reported
by the CPAN Testers reports is:

       make[2]: Leaving directory
`/home/perllive/perl/cpan/build/PDL-2.4.4_03-AAL0Ji/Basic/Pod'
       make[2]: Entering directory
`/home/perllive/perl/cpan/build/PDL-2.4.4_03-AAL0Ji/Basic/Gen'
       /home/perllive/perl/bin/perl PP/dump.pp > PP/Dump.pm.tmp
       mv PP/Dump.pm.tmp PP/Dump.pm
make[2]: *** No rule to make target `pptemplate', needed by
`pptemplate.pod'. Stop.

If you have any idea for the origin or fix for this problem, it would be
   nice to have.

Things you can do to help:

* Try building the developers releases of PDL
   and reporting the results---via CPAN::Reporter
or Test::Reporter ideally, or to me directly
is better than not reporting... :-)

* Try building the developers releases of
   PDL-Graphics-OpenGL-Perl-OpenGL and reporting
   the results---via CPAN::Reporter or
Test::Reporter ideally, or to me directly.

This is the PDL module which will eventually
provide the Perl OpenGL bindings for PDL use
   and any new OpenGL functionality.

Cheers,
Chris
