Doesn't podselect come from Pod::Select? That is a core Perl module. You should have had that. Maybe it wasn't in /usr/bin, maybe it was somewhere else (I don't use a Mac). The fact that it wasn't in your path is odd. Keep that in mind as you keep working on this system--if anything else funny comes up, it might help you connect the dots.
