I trust your judgement. I certainly agree with the part about
installing the correct version and having a smooth install process.

If I had followed the "manual instructions" carefully from the start, I
would have gotten everything working much sooner. I'm not sure why I
ignored that page initially. I think my brain didn't make the
connection between CPAN and "manual install" because CPAN is just "cpan
FOO" and it "just works".


Anyway, I'm glad that PDL has improved so much since the 2.4.3 days.
That is very encouraging.
