Hello, I am working on a website update. I am not finished, and I need help. See here:
http://pdl.perl.org/future/ (hit refresh) What do you think? Doesn't it look great? :-D I removed some unimportant text from the front page to make room for the icons. I removed the Download link on the sidebar because nobody is supposed to install PDL like that. Instead, I want to make a nice Install page with all the right information. This is what I need help with. I need someone who understands a little about how to install PDL to help me sort through all the poor and scattered information on the wiki. The information I can find is poor and often outdated. If I go to "Install PDL the quick and easy way" (hmm... why not just "Install"?) I find this: 1) Linux There are two links for Ubuntu and the most recent one is for a 3-year-old distribution. I don't know what to do with that. Can I expect either of those instructions to work in modern Ubuntu? They don't look right... There is a broken link for SUSE (it's now spelt SUSE not SuSE), and then "Installing PDL on a Linux Debian based operating system for power users". 2) Mac OS X There is a link to a page which has nothing more than a link to another page, from Karl. That page was last updated 4 years ago. Hmm... 3) Windows Ok, these look easy enough, but I've heard that there are issues with PDL on Windows, so I don't know whether to trust these. Do I have a volunteer to help me get updated information for Windows, Linux and OS X? Thanks, Daniel. -- Intolerant people should be shot. _______________________________________________ Perldl mailing list [email protected] http://mailman.jach.hawaii.edu/mailman/listinfo/perldl
