Hello,
Sorry for the extra email. I have additional notes:
* I just realized that there are three fonts on the site, not two. The
font on the header, the sidebar and the body are different and don't
match.
* The camel on the second page belongs to O'Reilly. During the logo
discussion you argued that we should not use a camel silhouette
because O'Reilly has a trademark on the camel imagery. I'd like to
note that O'Reilly has both trademark and copyright ownership of the
camel you used on your mockup. This is the exact camel from their
book. We definitely cannot use it without written permission from
them.
* The spacing between blocks on the sidebar is inconsistent.
* On the sidebar you use indentation both to denote a sub-menu
('Install') and to denote the currently selected page. This
overloading of visual cues is bad usability.
* On the sidebar, the selected page looks too similar to the block title.
I realize that all my comments so far have not been positive. I hope
nothing I've said comes out badly. I'd like to add that I do see an
idea that I like:
* I think that the "pdl>" in the sidebar headings is a nice idea.
Daniel.
