Congratulations, Chris, (and all involved)!
This release announcement is amazingly wonderful. You've
coordinated -- and documented, here -- a truly unusual accomplishment!
I can't say I've ever seen anything quite like this announcement in
fifty years of software experience. I, personally, have been only a
lurker (though I've followed closely both mailing lists for the past
several months' development) because of life's distractions -- but
Perl and, especially, PDL are close to my heart.
I congratulate everyone who's contributed to this release, and want
to especially commend Chris for coordinating and mediating everyone's
involvement. I hope this announcement is widely read. It is
beautiful to behold.
