thanks Chris for the reply. regarding the imag2d, i have installed the PDL on a
new perl activestate 5.12 and installed all those ppm packages on windows:
ppm install Astro-FITS-Header
ppm install Convert-UU
ppm install http://cpan.uwinnipeg.ca/PPMPackages/12xx/PGPLOT.ppd
ppm install http://cpan.uwinnipeg.ca/PPMPackages/12xx/OpenGL.ppd
ppm install http://cpan.uwinnipeg.ca/PPMPackages/12xx/PDL.ppd
after that i tried to run your code:
use PDL;
use PDL::Graphics2d; # imports imag2d() and twiddle()
$a = sequence(64,48,3); # make test RGB image
$a = $a->mv(2,0); # color must be dim(0) with size [0..4]
$a /= $a->max; # pixel values in [0.0,1.0]
$a = sin(10*$a);
$w1 = imag2d($a); # with parens...
$w2 = imag2d $a->sqrt; # or without
$w3 = imag2d $a**2;
but i get the error message:
Undefined subroutine &main::imag2d called at z.pl line 8, <DATA> line 206.
only when i use imag2d.pdl as described in my first message the code can run,
and display the plot.
everything else are very good, it is just with this imag2d.
may be it is a problem with the ppm i do not know, the same error i got using
strawberry.
i can't install from source to check the situation, it needs many other
resources and i got many errors so the ppm is the best..
i can live without the imag2d, there are a whole wide other functions working
okay. it is just a report for info.
thank you and best wishes.
