Is it just me or does anyone else find the
various argument orders for rcols/wcols,
readflex/writeflex, readfraw/writefraw confusing
(especially as to where the file or handle argument
goes in the list)?

It appears that different rationales were used for
each of the routines that may make sense individually
but turn into a mess with the entire class of IO routines.

Any "back story" on the argument order origins or
other thoughts appreciated.

Thanks,
Chris
