It occurs to me that it should also be possible to extract the PDL::FFTW
source from the PDL source and build and install it alone - ie without
building the whole of PDL as well.
PDL::Graphics::PLplot exists both in the PDL source, and as a module on
CPAN. Comparing both of those sources should provide a good indication of
what hacks are necessary. (From memory, there are some differences in the
Makefile.PL ... perhaps other differences, too ...)
But it's probably quicker just to build PDL in its entirety again, rather
than go messing about trying to build PDL::FFTW alone.
