Reinstall of the same script worked this time. I had two perl paths originally
in my env that I found when I reviewed the errors. Corrected that and installed
the ppm again.

No pdldoc.db anywhere in the perl directories. I'll try re-installing again
over top. Unfortunately I killed the cmd prompt so I have no history of the
report. Note to self - direct the output of cpan -if to a file....
Setting TERM="" removed the terminal warning.
I don't know what open3 does that does not work with gnuplot on win32. I can
call gnuplot directly from within perl and it works and the Graphics::GnuplotIF
method of using an IOhandle seems to work fine as well. It looks, on the face
of it, to be doing the same thing though so I am confused.

You'll need to unset the TERM environment variable.
TERM=dumb disables all the readline command edit stuff. There was some win32
reason for why it is set that way but I don't recall. I disable it myself and
things work consistently between the win32 and unix-ish versions of perl.
The win32 interface is where the problem is with the current
PDL::Graphics::Gnuplot implementation so I'm not surprised that you had a
problem there.
I don't know about the documentation. Did a pdldoc.db file get installled
anywhere? Can you read it---permissions ok for a user?
