INTERNATIONAL FESTIVAL AT STANFORD'S BECHTEL INTERNATIONAL CENTER

At Bechtel International Center's International Festival on May 8, an
afternoon of international performances will be presented in the back yard
area of the I-Center. Included in the program will be various types of
martial arts demonstrations, Korean drumming, tango music, dances from
Thailand, Indonesia, Greece, Poland, and Mexico, Afro-Caribbean dances,
Hawaiian hula, belly dance, Balkan folkdances, American traditional folk
music, and Brazilian capoeira. In addition, there will be cultural displays
(including an exhibit of Brazilian music and culture), talks on orchids and
an orchid display, and international food and crafts for sale. The event
will start shortly before 1pm and will end at around 6pm.  The
International Festival is FREE and open to the public. Bechtel
International Center is located at the corner of Mayfield and Lomita Dr,
and faces the parking lot behind Tresidder Union. For further information

At 7pm there will be a special Okinawan dance performance presented in the
I-Center Assembly room.

Throughout the day there will be cultural displays, talks on orchids and an
orchid display, and international crafts for sale. Several local
restaurants will sell food. The I-Fest is free and open to the public.

Directions from Interstate 280: take Alpine exit (east - toward Palo Alto),
turn right on Junipero Serra, turn left on Campus Dr. West (near golf
course), turn right onto Santa Teresa, turn right onto Lomita Dr. The
I-Center is bounded by the Mayfield, Lomita Dr., and Lagunita.

Directions from Interstate 101: take Embarcadero exit (west - toward
Stanford), turn left on Campus Dr, turn right on Mayfield, turn right on
Lagunita (first right after curve on Mayfield) which enters parking lot.
The I-Center is at the far end of the parking lot, bounded by Mayfield,
Lomita Dr., and Lagunita streets.
